Preparation for Worship - October 18

Time of  Meditation & Preparation                                                    Psalm 57:1

      Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in You my soul takes refuge.

The Call to Worship                                                            From Psalm 57:9-11

Leader:   We will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the peoples;

People:  We will sing praises to You among the nations.

All:  For Your steadfast love is great to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the clouds.  Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!  Let Your glory be over all the earth!

The Prayer of Confession

Father, if Your mercy had bounds, where would we find refuge from Your just wrath?  But Your love in Christ is without measure so we present ourselves to You with sins of commission and omission.  We have sinned against You, Father, against You, adorable redeemer, against You, Holy Spirit, against our conscience, against the commands of Your Word, against our neighbors and ourselves.  Do not judge us guilty, for we plead no righteousness of our own, and have no cover for iniquity. We plead the covering of Christ’s blood as we stand before You.  Please help us worship in a manner pleasing to You.  On the merit of Christ alone we pray.  Amen.
