Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.The Call to Worship* (From 1 Chronicles 16:28-34)
Leader: Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; bring an offering and come before Him! Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness;
People: Tremble before Him, all the earth. Let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!”
All: Oh give things to the LORD, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!The Prayer for Help ( From 1 Chronicles 16:35-36)
Save us, O God of our salvation, that we may give thanks to Your holy name, and glory in Your praise. Please make us more watchful and prayerful so that evil fruit does not spring from the evil seeds our hands have sown. Help us honor Your name as we worship this morning. We need You and ask for Your help. In Christ we pray. Amen.The Opening Hymn 280* “I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord”
1. I love Thy kingdom, Lord, The house of Thine abode,
The Church our blest Redeemer saved With His own precious blood.
2. I love Thy Church, O God! Her walls before Thee stand,
Dear as the apple of Thine eye, And graven on Thy hand.
3. For her my tears shall fall; For her my prayers ascend;
To her my cares and toils be giv’n, Till toils and cares shall end.
4. Beyond my highest joy I prize her heav’nly ways,
Her sweet communion, solemn vows, Her hymns of love and praise.
5. Sure as Thy truth shall last, To Zion shall be giv’n
The brightest glories earth can yield, And brighter bliss of heav’n.
The Corporate Reading of God’s Word Psalm 138:1-8
I give You thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing Your praise; I bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your steadfast love and Your faithfulness, for You have exalted above all things Your name and Your word. On the day I called, You answered me; my strength of soul You increased. All the kings of the earth shall give You thanks, O LORD, for they have heard the words of Your mouth, and they shall sing of the ways of the LORD, for great is the glory of the LORD. For though the LORD is high, He regards the lowly, but the haughty He knows from afar. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve my life; You stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand delivers me. The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me; Your select love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of Your hands.The Prayer for Physical Needs
Praise Hymn * “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us”
1. How deep the Father’s love for us, How vast beyond all measure.
That He should give His only Son – To make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss, The Father turns His face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One – Bring many sons to glory.
2. Behold the man upon a cross, My sin upon His shoulders.
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice – Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there – Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life, I know that it is finished.
3. I will not boast in anything, No gifts, no pow’r, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer,
But this I know with all my heart, His wounds have paid my ransom.
