The Opening Prayer
Lord, give us a deeper repentance, a horror of sin, and a dread of its approach. Help us to flee sin and to resolve that our hearts are Yours only. We long for deeper power in private prayer, more sweetness in Your word, and a better grasp of its truth. Father, please give us greater holiness in speech, thought, and action, and do not let us seek moral purity apart from You. We confess that we need You every hour, and ask for Your help as we seek to worship You in Spirit and truth. We ask for these things on the merit of Christ alone. Amen
